On the right you may recognize this... It is a part of a tryptic by Paula Rego called «Vanitas».

This tryptic was comissioned by the Gulbenkian Fundation, a portuguese fundation that dedicates itself to the support of art and culture, for its 50th birthday and it is one of the latest works of Paula Rego, you can see some of her work at the National Portrait Gallery in London and she has also been represented at the TATE,the Marlborough Gallery and many others, and it was inspired on a fairy tale by Almeida Faria, "Vanitas, 51 Avenue d'Iena".

Paula Rego is very well know for her symbolisms, leading mainly to her roots here in Portugal as she now lives in London, and is recognised wherever she goes. She marked a new turn in Portuguese art, and also on the critic view of the portuguese society.
